Seminyak, Bali

Seminyak is known as the place many go to shop and party. If that's your thing then there are lots of options , with Bali Joe's running nightly and La Fa Vela as a night life little gem. If you are travelling and looking for more things to do then there are other options. For a short stay, there are several different beach locations , different restaurants and attractions .

Beach and surfing On the beaches you may be hassled with buying a sunbed but if you're happy on the sand then it is free. The beaches in Seminyak are not really for swimming and are more surfing focused, purely because it attracts such big waves. If you've not done it before , there is also the opportunity to go surfing, with lessons. The alternative to the beach is the beach club 'Potato Head', which after you've gone through security is a beautiful setting overlooking the beach. There is a pool, lounge beds and a bar. There is a bit of a wait for the lounge beds , but there are cupboards where you can leave your things if you are wanting to get straight into the pool.

Slightly further down the beach is the Double six beach , which when it's nearly time for sunset , bean bags are set out for those sunset lovers .

Food and drink When it comes to food , the prices can be very similar to those at home. As Seminyak is so touristy , it's worth looking around and seeing what you can find. Indonesian dishes are the cheapest being roughly 50,000-60,000 RPH. personally i love Nasi Goerang. Just over £3). Bintang , the Indonesians beer, which translates to star, is sold in every bar and I definitely recommend if you're a beer lover ! If you're an ice cream lover then the 'Yoghurt Republic ' is a huge ice cream parlour which offers both gelato and frozen yoghurt ice cream. They offer you the option to try some flavours before you try . If you are gluten free or vegan they have some delicious options too! Cafe organic is a must if you're into smoothies and anything healthy ! They also do Acai bowls which just blow my mind 😍 I'll let you discover those for yourself , slightly pricey but so worth it!

If you are away on a budget then it's worth going to the super markets , most likely a 15 minute walk from where you are but everything is cheaper there.

Like any new country and delicacies, it can take time for your stomach to adjust so it is normal to have a little bit of a quirky stomach initially. Activities Yoga Love ! A great way to reenergise and stretch your body. There are several places to do yoga whether that's at Yoga 108 Bali for 120,000 RPH (around £7-£8) or hot yoga at Jiwa for 180,000 RPH (£11ish) . Hot yoga is doing yoga in 38-40 degree heat , which afterwards your body and mind feels so refreshed . Sweating in places you never thought you could sweat before ! Other activities ... My advice is that if you are wanting to go on a tour , a lot are based around Ubud , so if you're planning to go there then it's better to wait until you're there as it'll be cheaper. Seminyak itself doesn't offer many activities but it's just worth looking around and seeing what is worthwhile doing whilst you're here. A heads up... - you will be beeped constantly for taxis - you will be approached by people trying to sell things on the beach - there will be dogs on the beaches but they'll stay out of your way if you stay out of theirs - thank you in Indonesian is 'terima kasih' and is appreciated by the locals

- there are minimarts everywhere so can grab pop and water from there.

Enjoy 🌍🌅☀️⛱️
